the past self meets the future self of who you will be and they connect and destroy the now so they can have a better future. Hence why krysta now had to die as she represents the now. A world where we all hate and backstab and spy on each other and had no real identity because we are moulded by media religion etc

Its more so much changing the world we live in today and destroying the now to change the future of who we will become

take all the scientists, religions, presidents and philosophies, porn stars movie stars and war that are causing people to hate each other
and destroy the beliefs. hence why the blimp had to be blown by the rocket launcher to create a better future. It was also a bit of a joke why Jericho Cane had to die JC Jesus Christ to save mankind.

so if we look at our past self of who we were (Roland tavener) and reflect who will will be in the future (ronald tavener) we have to destroy/change who we are today and live in a better world by destroying the present. Change our beliefs change who we are and what society wants us to be. Do things out of your own freewill learn from mistakes in the past so they don't repeat in the future. We are slowly leading to our own demise.

Roland forgave himself for what he did in the past by looking at who he was in the future lol bit of a joke really. Because what we do in the past does influence what happens in our future hence Karma (fluid karma)
